It is considered to be an extension of the city center. The district includes both residential and industrial urban areas. Furthermore, a number of extensive parks like Stromovka, Letná and Troja can be found here as well. It is connected to the center of Prague by both the subway and tram system. Despite being an extension of the city center, the district still has great potential for development.

Holešovice is becoming increasingly popular especially with the younger generation thanks to its industrial atmosphere. Although many places are industrial, there are also some historic homes that have recently been undergoing renovation. There are numerous places to visit in Holešovice. Apart from the biggest parks in Prague, it is also home to two major contemporary art galleries – Veletržní palác and the center of Contemporary Art DOX. In close proximity to the Stromovka park we can find a planetarium, the exhibition center Výstaviště, a multifunctional hall Tipsort Arena, the lunapark “Matějská,” and the biggest Sea Aquarium in the Czech Republic “Mořský svět.” It also has one of the largest local markets in Prague “Pražská tržnice” and its own port called Prague Marina with the residence of the same name close by. Through Holešovice leads the subway system with stations Vltavská and Nádraží Holešovice, but it also has the Strossmayerovo square, a thouroughfare for trams that can get you almost anywhere in Prague. The area also includes the international "Duhovka high school":http://www.philip-frank.com/en/prague-guide/5758513-duhovka-preschool-elementary-and-high-school-duhovka.

Troja is a majestic place which offers not only breathtaking scenery but is also filled with many interesting facilities such as the Prague Zoo, which is according to TripAdvisor the fourth best zoo in the whole world. Furthermore, the Botanical Garden of Prague which composes of three pillars (Japanese Garden, greenhouse Fata Morgana, vineyard of St. Claire) and the magnificent baroque Troja Palace. Sports lovers have at their disposal cycling trails, in-line skating trails and cross-country trails along the river. Considering accommodation, you will find that there are very little apartment houses and many family homes and villas. Getting to the city center is much easier by car (10 - 15 minutes) rather than public transport (30 minutes). Overall, Troja is a very pleasant area to live thanks to its beautiful surrounding nature and vineyards.
