A Different Kind of Greenery in Prague
31. 8. 2017
Plants in the interior create not only a pleasant climate but also a unique atmosphere. Don’t you know what kind of flowers to choose? Don’t you like the classic pot flowers? There is a singular design solution: vertical gardens in flats.
The first vertical green wall (also called “living wall” or “vertical garden”) was created by French botanist Patric Blanc in 1988. These special installations of living plants are designed for both the façade and the interior. By choosing certain plants it is possible to achieve plasticity of the wall. There are creeping and overhanging plants as well as those growing high. A green wall of living plants humidifies the air, brings about a feeling of comfort and makes breathing more pleasant.
Vertical gardens can be formed according to the layout of your interior and according to your ideas. The shapes can be varied. The green wall may be designed as one-sided (on the wall) or as a two-sided partition of any size and shape. The installation of a green wall is preceded by extensive building preparations. In most cases artificial light is recommended because it eliminates the lack of natural light. A green wall is watered by an automatic irrigation system with manual or automatic water replenishment. It depends on the size of the wall. In order to have a long life, the plants must be trimmed regularly and for large green walls it pays to use the services of experts.
